Technical Specialist I, ISCC Brazil

Division: Energy, Biomaterials, and Circularity

Job Overview
The Technical Specialist I works directly with key certification programs, including ISCC, Bonsucro, ProTerra and 2BSvs. The primary responsibilities of the Technical Specialist include conducting on-site audits at client facilities, managing administrative activities related to client communications, and coordinating audit projects. The role also involves reviewing audit reports, corrective action plans, and other related documentation. In addition, the Technical Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all activities within the SCS database, as well as supporting the development and continuous improvement of internal procedures and documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Auditing and Technical Expertise

  • Conduct onsite and desk audits in accordance with assigned standards and verification requirements
  • Perform required data checks, inventory reviews, and data management system evaluations
  • Support the development of risk assessments and verification plans
  • Complete assigned audit activities within agreed timelines and documentation standards
  • Assist in preparing clear and accurate audit reports with appropriate supervision
  • Communicate audit findings internally and externally in a professional manner

Quality and Program Development

  • Deliver verification services in accordance with corporate quality systems and program requirements
  • Maintain accurate competency and training records
  • Participate in internal and external accreditation activities as assigned
  • Stay current on applicable standards and program updates
  • Support continuous improvement efforts through feedback and process adherence

Client Management

  • Communicate professionally with clients, auditors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the certification process
  • Support client onboarding, audit planning, and preparation activities to facilitate successful certification projects
  • Ensure responsiveness and high levels of customer service
  • Escalate complex issues to senior team members as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g. Agronomy, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related) and
  • 2+ years of experience working in a related sector
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical or procedural information clearly in Portuguese and English
  • Willingness to travel
  • Organizes and executes assigned program tasks accurately and on time with attention to detail
  • Applies established procedures, standards, and quality requirements to daily work
  • Works independently on defined assignments while seeking guidance as needed
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, auditors, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintains accurate data, records, and documentation in program systems
  • Learns and applies program standards, workflows, and systems efficiently
  • Adapts to changing priorities in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field
  • Experience with third party auditing, certification systems, or other applicable industry standards and/or knowledge
  • Background in Agronomy
  • Proficient in Salesforce
  • Spanish language skills

Working Remotely
SCS is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce. This is a home-office based role and may include travel with local, domestic, and/or international trips. Details will be clarified during the recruitment process.

Estimated Annual Salary
$120,000 - $144.000 BRL
