Program Manager, CSRD Europe

Job Overview
SCS Consulting Services Europe B.V. is part of SCS Global Services, which helps organizations meet their sustainability goals through cutting-edge solutions in supply chain traceability, circularity, decarbonization, and compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

SCS is seeking a highly experienced Program Manager to lead the development and management of the CSRD unit for SCS Consulting Services Europe B.V. In the Program Manager, CSRD Europe position, you will lead a team of professionals and coordinate closely with the company in the United States, where CSRD strategies are already being developed. This position will be instrumental in expanding the CSRD unit across Europe and delivering high-quality solutions to our clients. This role requires a high level of independence and remote work capability. However, if based in the Netherlands or Germany, we offer the possibility of working in a hybrid environment (office/home). This position involves approximately 40% travel, including trips outside of the EU.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management

  • Forecast program revenue and profitability on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Establish program budget planning and projections through data analysis and regular tracking
  • Oversee the budgeting, timelines, and resource allocation for CSRD-related projects
  • Provide input into pricing structures to meet program revenue and profitability goals and revise as necessary
  • Oversee program-specific pricing strategies with contracts and agreements

Business Development

  • Lead the strategic design and expansion of the CSRD unit, guiding a team of professionals
  • Drive the growth of CSRD services in Europe by delivering tailored solutions for clients
  • Represent SCS Consulting Services Europe B.V. at industry conferences, client meetings, and other events

Operation Management

  • Provide input on adequacy and effectiveness of human resources in achieving production goals
  • Provide operational training to staff, auditors, and partner organizations when opportunities arise
  • Collaborate with IT and other internal stakeholders to drive improvements to software/IT platforms and resources and to train users to ensure consistent and efficient use
  • Maintain close collaboration with our global offices, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives

Quality Management

  • Ensure projects comply with European CSRD regulations and sustainability frameworks
  • Oversee external audit process in collaboration with stakeholders and ensure nonconformities are resolved
  • As necessary, assess field activities, conduct interviews, consult with stakeholders, and write reports for audit projects in order to maintain auditor qualifications
  • Oversee program complaints and guide team in facilitating solutions to client issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Policy, Environmental Engineering, or a related field and
  • 8+ years of experience in ESG, with at least 3 years focusing on CSRD compliance and
  • Proven experience in managing teams and leading projects in the ESG sector
  • Fluency in English and Dutch or French including professional and technical verbal and written communication
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Well-developed organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision, managing projects and teams effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Policy, Environmental Engineering, or related fields
  • Proficiency in additional language(s)

Working Remotely
SCS is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce. This is a home-office based role and may include travel with local, domestic, and/or international trips. Details will be clarified during the recruitment process.

Estimated Annual Salary
$60,000 - $70,000 EUR
