Lead Auditor, Biofuels and Circular Economy

Job Overview
The Biofuels and Circular Economy Lead Auditor's primary role is to conduct audits under ISCC, RSPO, Recycled Content Certification, RSB, and other related biofuels and circular economy standards for a network of SCS clients in Southeast Asia. This position will be expected to assist with client management, business development, quality assurance, audit management, and other tasks as assigned. This is a full-time position based in Indonesia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management

  • Complete audits by adhering to the agreed timeline, reporting deliverables, and professional requirements
  • Support the documentation, communication, and closure of audit findings
  • Communicate standard requirements to clients, effectively, and concisely
  • Communicate regularly with clients, ensuring that Corrective Action Requests are closed within appropriate deadlines
  • Communicate promptly with SCS staff on the scheduling of audits and revisions to draft reports, if needed
  • Coordinate the audit process with clients and other stakeholders; ensure clients provide necessary data and information
  • Provide high level of customer service throughout the audit process

Auditing and Technical Expertise

  • Generate high quality, technical audit reports ensuring accurate, detailed, and consistent descriptions of evidence and findings
  • Independently or with teams, assess management practices of organizations related to applicable certification standards
  • Proficient in program and certification requirements, ensuring a pragmatic approach to a wide range of auditing circumstances while maintaining the integrity of the certification scheme

Quality and Program Development

  • Support the SCS quality management system through maintenance of competency records including training log, completed calibration activities, and up to date knowledge of SCS program and external scheme requirements
  • Identify new sales leads and conduct sales activities to drive growth
  • Manage new and existing client relationships
  • Create proposals and budgets, negotiate with clients, and engage in other sales activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (agriculture, forestry, engineering, environmental sciences, etc.) and
  • 3+ years of field experience in the biofuels sector, circular economy sector, or palm oil sector and
  • Experience as an auditor for ISCC, RSPO, and/or GRS
  • Excellent technical writing, observation and data management skills, and demonstrated abilities in critical analysis
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; ability to learn, adapt, and utilize various internal and external database systems
  • Strong written and oral command of the Bahasa Indonesia and English languages
  • Willing to travel within Southeast Asia approximately 75% of the year

Preferred Qualifications

  • ISCC, RSPO, GRS endorsed Lead Auditor course
  • Currently qualified as an ISCC, GRS, and/or RSPO P&C Team or Lead Auditor
  • Completed the auditor course for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001
  • FSC Forest Management and/or Chain of Custody auditing experience

Working Remotely
SCS is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce. This is a home-office based role and may include travel with local, domestic, and/or international trips. Details will be clarified during the recruitment process.
