Senior Vice President, Commercial

Job Overview
The Senior Vice President, Commercial is a high-level executive responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of SCS Global Services and its affiliates, including sales, marketing, M&A activity, pricing and margin optimization, and key customer relationships. The primary goal is to drive profitable growth through revenue generation, market expansion, and improved profitability by developing and executing comprehensive commercial strategies, identifying new market opportunities, and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

This position will manage sales and marketing teams, monitor market trends across all sectors, and foster strong customer relationships to optimize revenue streams and profitability while maintaining a culture of excellence, integrity, and collaboration within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy

  • Create and implement SCS's commercial strategy, including identifying priority market opportunities, and developing plans to maximize revenue and market share
  • Manage sales and marketing functions, setting targets, objectives, and monitoring performance to ensure effective sales and marketing strategies are deployed
  • Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to adapt commercial strategies accordingly
  • Determine optimal pricing strategies for SCS products and services that drive profitable growth in the company based on the value that SCS provides to the market

Business Development and Client Management

  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, potentially including partnerships and collaborations, to expand the company's reach
  • Foster strong relationships with key customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty, and actively managing customer feedback to improve offerings
  • Support evaluation of potential acquisition targets in new markets to expand SCS' scope and reach

Operations and Financial Oversight

  • Lead and develop high-performing sales, marketing, and customer success teams, setting clear goals and performance metrics
  • Monitor commercial performance against budget and financial targets, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimization
  • Work closely with other departments like product development, operations, and finance to ensure alignment with commercial goals

Thought Leadership and Innovation

  • Stay ahead of trends in sustainability, climate change, and environmental policy, and incorporate innovative practices into the company’s offerings
  • Stay abreast of developing regulations that intersect with existing services offered, as well as new regulations that will lead to the creation of new business areas
  • Represent SCS at industry conferences, webinars, and events, positioning the company as a leader in sustainability
  • Lead collaboration with other SCS entities to ensure the best use of resources of the larger SCS family of companies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or relevant field and
  • 10+ years of experience leading or managing a team and
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in strategic leadership, customer relations, or sales
  • Well-developed organizational, project management, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • Strong leadership, team management, strategic thinking, and planning abilities
  • Deep understanding of sales processes and marketing principles with market knowledge and awareness of industry trends
  • Strong negotiation ability with expertise in closing deals
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation
  • Complete fluency in English with work experience that involves professional and technical written and verbal communication
  • Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Sales CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment
  • Commitment to SCS values and environmental issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or relevant field
  • Experience and strong knowledge within the environmental sustainability industry
  • Wide professional network

Working Remotely
SCS is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce. This is a home-office based role and may include travel with local, domestic, and/or international trips. Details will be clarified during the recruitment process.

Estimated Annual Salary
$200,000 - $280,000
