Technical Coordinator, Ivory Coast

Job Overview
The Technical Coordinator, Ivory Coast will work with multiple projects, including client-specific responsible and sustainable sourcing programs, as well as other programs under development covered under the SCS office in Ivory Coast. The position entails managing operations related to communication with clients and auditors, technical review and analysis of audit results and related documentation, technical report writing, creating data tracking sheets in Excel and analyzing results, and reviewing audit reports and audit-related documentation. The Technical Coordinator reports to the Technical Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Communication

  • Manage daily email and telephone/Zoom/Microsoft Teams communications in English and French with auditors, clients, and SCS program personnel and contractors

Auditing

  • Track and manage audit project milestones and deadlines
  • Review audit plans and related audit documents and forms
  • Conduct technical and quality reviews of audit reports completed by staff and contract auditors
  • Conduct post-audit review of corrective action plans and client evidence
  • Conduct onsite or remote audits of agricultural production and facility sites as needed
  • Assess and confirm certification scope for SCS clients
  • Conduct final reviews and make procedural decisions

Operations

  • Maintain new, existing, and archived program files in accordance with program requirements
  • Develop and edit program guidance updates, audit report templates, communications, and letters as needed
  • Support Technical Manager to develop training programs and related materials as needed
  • Conduct desk-based and field audits as required (international travel may be required)
  • Research third-party auditing initiatives and responsible sourcing programs and prepare summary reports in support of RSS staff
  • Ensure program compliance with SCS quality system
  • Work with SCS Global Services and other SCS subsidiaries in adherence with existing procedures and protocols
  • Additional tasks as requested by the Country/Program/Technical Manager and Program Director of SCS Global Services and other SCS subsidiaries

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Environmental Science, Sustainability, Agricultural or Food Systems, etc.) or
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the sustainability, environmental, auditing, or certification sector and
  • ISO 9001, ISO 19011 training certificate, or ISO training equivalent certificate
  • Excellent technical writing, observation, and data management skills
  • Ability to complete time-sensitive projects and to provide realistic deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication abilities and emotional intelligence
  • Professional working experience with verbal and written fluency in French and English
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and use professional judgement; responsive and adaptive

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Agronomy, Natural Resources, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or a related field
  • Experience with third-party auditing, certification systems, agricultural operations, ISO 9001:2015 quality systems, or other applicable industry standards and/or knowledge
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and database management systems
  • Demonstrated abilities in critical analysis

Work Environment
Primarily in office work 5 days per week with trips to client sites to conduct audits and meetings as needed

Estimated Net Annual Salary
11,500,000 - 12,600,000 XOF (West African CFA Franc)
